Adoption of cloud technology can be accelerated by being clear on the opportunities provided by cloud to departments and individuals. A good platform offers opportunities through a “playground” landing zone, to run Proof of Concepts (POC) and Proof of Values (PoV). ?
PoCs check whether a solution’s direction is feasible for a particular problem. PoVs evaluate the value of cloud technology or (PaaS/IaaS) service. PoVs are a good way to evaluate whether in use technologies like on-premises SQL installation should be replaced by a cloud variant. The acceptance of cloud by departments of the standing IT organisation is stimulated if they carry out the PoVs themselves.?
Because of the pay-per-use, on demand nature of cloud services, evaluations are easily accessible and affordable, resulting in a democratisation of testing possibilities.?
The CCoE ensures that the business is aware of the latest cloud possibilities (‘Supply’) so that new insight arises for functional requirements and new business models (‘Demand’).?
The CCoE supports the business with provisioning playgrounds so users can easily experiment with cloud technology. It also provides knowledge to the teams to make the right technology choices and helps to draw up business cases by making the costs transparent.
